I have been on the hunt for the perfect foundation for as long as I can remember, but I have always had to settle for something and have never found the one. They were always either the wrong colour, not quite the right coverage or would have come off my face entirely by lunch time. However, I may have just, possibly, found the one. Maybe…… Gosh Foundation Drops.
I have been wearing this foundation for about a month now and am pretty happy with it. It needs a good shake before each use or it will come out either very thin or very thick. Very thick means you will have a much thinner foundation in the end; very thin you have to apply more layers. So it is best to shake it to get the correct consistency. Now this correct consistency, is actually a lot thinner than other foundations I have used. At first I thought it would mean poor coverage, but I have been really pleasantly surprised. Just one all over application leaves my skin looking like it has a nice even tone and covers most of my blemishes. I do not need to add any more for daily wear this does me fine. If I am going out or want to have a thicker foundation then it is easy to apply a second layer or just blend in a bit more on the specific areas required. I find the foundation does this easily and does not clump on my face or get that horrible cracking which other foundations can get when you apply layers.
I have worn the foundation both with and without a primer and I find that by the end of the day I am still oil free. I have such oily skin that normally by the end of the day my make up has fallen of my face and I am a bit of a greasy mess, never a good look!! So this is a very, very good thing! There is nothing better than spending a day at work and knowing you can still go out for drinks afterwards without having to take an entire make up bag with you to reapply! The other huge bonus to me is, as I have mentioned before, I have very sensitive skin and find that almost everything irritates it and again this foundation ticks that box. It never causes me to itch or come out in big red lumps.
It has quite a wide range of colours so I was able to find a much better match than I usually can for my skin. Pale girls, this foundation is your friend!! The other thing I quite like about it is the fact they are drops. I quite like being able to easily dispense either a large or very small amount which sometimes with a pump just is not manageable. I often need just a tiny bit and end up with half the bottle on my hand. No big deal you can put it back in, but this is just easier when you are in a rush, which I always am.
At the same time I bought the Foundation Drops I also bought the Gosh Velvet Touch Foundation Primer Classic and an Eye Brow Pencil in Grey/Brown. I have never used a primer before so have no real comparison to make on this, but it has a lovely light feel on my skin and seems to do the job of smoothing out the ever expanding wrinkles on my forehead! The Eye Brow Pencil is a fantastic colour for me, I often find them either too light or too dark but this is just spot on for my light Brown hair. The only downside, it is super soft so wears down very quickly, I have to sharpen it every 3 days or so which I never have had to do with another pencil. But hey if the colour is right I am willing to put in this time!
All in all I am very happy with all three products I bought from GOSH. They were all a reasonable price, the colour range is excellent and the products seem to be of a good quality. I strongly recommend you give them a go if you are looking for a good vegan and cruelty free cosmetic range. Oh and forgot to say, they can be bought on the high street, huge tick!!!
Have you tried them, did you think the same??
PS. if you would like to know which GOSH cosmetics are vegan, the full list as at February 2016 is below. They sent this on to me when I enquired on their cruelty free stance. Very helpful!!! Sorry it’s a bit lengthy, but hey that’s a good thing!!!
